About Porcelain Painting

We meet every Wednesday.

China Paint is a ceramic painting ⁄colouring technique that handles like watercolour.

This is an ancient art and some beautiful examples can be seen sometimes on the Antiques road shoe on television. When painted these items are fired in our special kilns at the club.

Traditionally, china paint is applied in multiple layers working light to dark on top of a white glazed surface. To facilitate the layering process work glazed with china paint is often painted and fired multiple times to develop color and finish with gold. Even if you are not very artistic, you can still create beautiful designs by sticking to simple patterns and colour themes. We decorate and personalise plates, vases, cups, trinket boxes and any other china we can get our hands on.

Some tuition is given but mostly we do our own thing and just give help as is needed.

You’re welcome to drop by, just contact us to let us know you’re coming.
